Clinical Trials

After you meet with your doctor or team of doctors, and they decide on management options, they may suggest participation in a clinical trial.  Clinical trials, or research studies, use patient volunteers to help investigate different ways to treat diseases like cancer.  Each study tries to answer specific scientific questions about different ways to prevent, diagnose and treat the disease.  You should consult your doctor to find out whether there is a clinical trial that is appropriate for your care and whether you are eligible for it.
